Role: Business Specialist Credit Models – Portfolio Management Unit, AIB UK.

 

Location: London / Belfast (Hybrid, 2 days in office)

 

This role is being offered on a full-time basis.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small team that provides 1LOD oversight for UK credit grading, auto decisioning and IFRS9 (Expected Credit Losses) models. You will support AIB UK’s key strategic ambition to be a model driven bank and will have the opportunity to contribute to important AIB Group and AIB UK modelling programmes.

 

This role will suit an experienced lending/credit professional, who can provide business insights and work collaboratively with key stakeholders to deliver on AIB UK’s credit model agenda. The ideal candidate will be diligent and committed with good business/credit acumen. The breadth of exposure to modelling approaches, model uses, and to functions across the Group provides an excellent development opportunity for the right candidate.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Contributing 1LOD insight and oversight at each stage of the model lifecycle (from initiation and development to deployment and ongoing monitoring)
  • Actively supporting relevant model projects and initiatives, including IRB model development
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in the delivery of the Model Operator agenda
  • Engaging with front line business areas and credit quality teams with respect to the use of grading, auto decisioning, and ECL models
  • Providing own business insights to relevant working groups and governance fora
  • Working closely with business areas and Risk Analytics to support the development of robust, value-adding models
  • Undertaking sampling exercises when required to inform model development decisions
  • Supporting the drafting of papers required for governance fora

 

 

What you will bring:

  • 3-5 years + of experience in a lending, credit risk, or similar role
  • Familiarity with the credit lifecycle and basic modelling and statistical concepts
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, an inquisitive mindset and tenacity to get to the bottom of an issue or query
  • Strong communication (both written and verbal) and stakeholder management skills, including an ability to understand and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
