As a member of the Sustainability and External Affairs a function, this position is responsible for supporting FMC’s global ESG submissions and compliance reporting for U.S. Government Affairs. This role will be as part of a global team supporting ESG and Government Affairs required and voluntary disclosures as well as supporting the office of the CSO as needed with sustainability data analytics and management and researching new and upcoming sustainability related grant opportunities and regulations. This role will report to the Global Director of Sustainability with direct engagement with the Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of external reports, ESG disclosures, and surveys such as CDP, EcoVadis, S&P Global and others.
Assist in the collection, analysis and management of data for ESG reporting frameworks and support work processes, policies, etc.
Collaborate with various teams to address customer inquiries and requests related to ESG topics.
Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of ESG reporting.
Research local, state, national and international grant funding opportunities regularly and summarize for internal audiences. Conduct analysis of potential decarbonization projects and compare benefits of specific grant programs, and alignment with internal goals and deployment feasibility.
End-to-end owner of FMC’s reporting for FMC PAC (political action committee) and lobbying engagements, including collecting data, quality assurance and following required procedures mandated by federal regulations (25% of time).
Manage PAC financials, including monitoring contributions and preparing and sending distributions, and reports for PAC treasurer and governing board.
Education and Skills/Competencies
In addition to demonstrating the FMC core competencies of Accountable, Adaptive, Innovative, Inclusive, Strategic and Leadership, you have:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Public/Environmental Policy, Government Affairs, Sustainability or similar.
Prior experience in compliance reporting in a life science or technology industry a plus.
High-level of organizational and project management skills and an intense attention to details, deadlines and accuracy is critical in this role.
Comfortable working with large amounts of data and inflexible deadlines as both a team member and project lead.
Pleasant but persistent in working with multiple levels of global stakeholders to ensure quality in data submissions and reporting accuracy—including executives.
Professional demeanor with strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to convey concepts clearly.
Proficiency in MS business suite, familiarity with SAP, Concur, Ariba, PAC software experience a plus
