We use these skills on a daily basis to drive improvement and inform science-based decisions for the water, wastewater and engineering functions of the business. This senior role covering Water Treatment (on an 18 month Fix Term Contract) will entail working within a multi-disciplinary team of process experts to enable proactive working through better information and insights, for the geographical field Process Scientists, Tactical Asset Planning, Strategic Asset Planning and Treatment Process Engineering.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
You will be responsible for managing performance data, using new systems to streamline the reporting process. Similarly, you will understand and get the best out of other new, innovative methods of data gathering and analysis as they come into the business.
Whilst the Waste & Water Treatment team works reactively on issues and incidents, you will be working to capture lessons centrally and ensure that these are not only shared cross-functionally, but also that new standards are driven from them where relevant.
You will improve understanding of works’ performance metrics and identify risks to prevent performance deterioration, as well as spotting opportunities for optimisation and process improvement, sharing knowledge and insight gained with the ultimate aim to improve regulatory compliance, helping to drive a change from reactive to proactive working for all.
As a Hub Senior Process Scientist you would be expected to act as a role model/ mentor for the rest of the team. You will upskill other team members including sharing knowledge cross-functionally across waste and water where applicable. You will be expected to take the initiative on investigating process deterioration, ensuring that appropriate action is taken in a timely manner.
As a Hub team member, you will be responsible for owning centralised activities to ensure consistency across Treatment Process and strive to develop a more proactive approach to compliance. You will also be in a key position to drive change in the business based on Treatment Processes needs such as the ICA strategy, BI reporting needs and standard policy decisions. You will be an ambassador for the Treatment Process Hub.
Whilst this is a Senior Process Scientist position covering Water Treatment, we would also consider a Hub Process Scientist position across water and waste water where applicable.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
We’re seeking our Senior Process Scientist to anticipate and seek to find issued that have the potential to cause deterioration in process performance, investigate and present findings, gaining but in from stakeholders to influence improvements.
To be successful in this role you’ll have excellent technical/process knowledge on Water Treatment, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders effectively at all levels. You’ll also have strong analytical skills capable of rationalising data from various sources and be comprehensive with your use of Word, Excel, SAP, Cognos, Quis, eSCADA, Minitab.
Whilst this is a Senior Process Scientist position covering Water Treatment, we would also consider a Hub Process Scientist position across water and waste water where applicable.
As travel is required, you’ll also have to hold a full U.K driving licence.
