Hello. We’re Severn Trent and we think water is wonderful. And we’re pretty keen on people too. We take pride in knowing we come to work each day and help make a difference to our customers, working together with our colleagues to solve problems as soon as we can.

Our Customer Solutions directorate is a team of just over 2000 people with one fundamental thing in common – they all focus on our customers. Their job is to ensure our customers, including our internal users, always have a great experience. That might be a customer calling about a billing query or a leak, a colleague looking for IT support, or a housing developer looking for advice with connecting to our water network.

Our Director of Customer Solutions is passionate about our customers too and is now looking for a Personal Assistant who also shares that passion.

If you’re seeking an exciting and thoroughly rewarding opportunity, Severn Trent is the place to be.

Everything you need to know

The role of an Executive PA will of course, involve the normal responsibilities of a PA; the diary and inbox management, organising meetings & events, being the main point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders, building relationships and keeping people updated.

However this isn’t a traditional PA role. We’re looking for a curious and ambitious individual to join our team.

Our Director of Customer Solutions has a fast paced, varied role and a wide range of teams across our region, so we’re also looking for someone who can proactively get involved in a range of different projects (big and small!) across the directorate. This could be things like supporting system changes, reviewing a new piece of customer regulation, or calling customers to check they’re happy with their service!

Finally, it goes without saying that integrity and confidentiality is of the upmost importance in this role.

What you’ll bring to the role.

Whilst this isn’t a traditional PA role, it is likely you will have some previous experience working as a PA at Exec or Board level, especially within a fast-paced large scale working environment. You must pride yourself on being a friendly and approachable individual, who is comfortable dealing with people at all levels. You must act on your own initiative supporting with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This role can be very demanding particularly around busy periods within our business, so organisation skills, resilience, and the ability to prioritise workload, with a strong attention to detail is key.

With the varied elements involved in this role you will need to be technology savvy with confidence across multiple platforms and digital interfaces.

We truly wish to find the most curious and ambitious talent here at Severn Trent, so why not get involved in some of our wider company initiatives and projects.

We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We employ thousands of people from across our community who really care about what they do. Because that is how we do what we do.

And when it comes to inclusion, we’re making sure we keep up the progress with our wonderful working groups – LGBTQ+, Women in Operations & STEM, Disability and Ethnicity, who help us do just that.

What’s in it for you

It’s not just a job you’ll get here, you’ll get a career too. We have a range of benefits that reward and recognise great work and award-winning training to ensure you reach your potential. And we’ll also help you play your part in looking after the environment and the community in which we live.  Here’s some of our favourites:

  • 28 days holiday + bank holidays (and the ability to buy/sell up to 5 additional days per year)
  • Annual bonus scheme (of up to £2,250 depending on company performance)
  • Leading pension scheme – we will double your contribution (up to 15% when you contribute 7.5%)
  • Sharesave – the chance to buy Severn Trent Plc shares at a discounted rate
  • Electric vehicle scheme and retail offers
  • Family friendly policies
  • Two volunteering days per year
