Gram Games is the studio behind some of the most popular mobile titles like 1010!, Six! and Merge Dragons!. We’ve recently released Merge Magic! and we have more awesome projects in the pipeline. As a Game Design Director, you will lead and manage the design team to develop and grow live titles. You will oversee the design process, providing guidance and direction to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality games. You will be instrumental in mentoring/guiding and ensuring that the game's strategy & vision are carried out by your team in each of their individual projects. In this role, you will report into senior leadership and will be accountable for the design leadership of the studio’s main title.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead and managing the design team including leads and managers
  • Oversee the design process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality games
  • Providing regular feedback and working on your teams career development
  • Developing and improving structures to help your team thrive; and advocating on their behalf at a company level.
  • Push forward initiatives, job frameworks, improvements and best practices to help designers achieve more
  • Collaborate with other departments to align on game development goals
  • Define and drive problem-solving culture both on your design team and for the team at large
  • Impart your experience and methods to the team, and leverage their strengths and backgrounds to build a versatile team capable of tackling any challenge

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing game design teams
  • A deep understanding of game design principles and best practices
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Experience in developing and managing live titles
  • Passion for games and commitment to delivering high-quality experiences
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
