The Team

We are seeking a Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless functioning of our property. From leading engineers to maintaining the aesthetic integrity of public spaces, your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will contribute to the overall success of our operations.

The Role 

Engineering Aspects 

  • Leadership and Coordination: Oversee the work of engineers, housekeepers, and public space maintenance teams, ensuring all daily tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Trash Flow Management: Ensure proper and timely execution of trash flow as it pertains to dumpsters/ rolling bins throughout the property.
  • Facility Maintenance: Preserve the functionality and safety of the facility, including buildings, mechanical and electrical systems, heating and cooling systems, life safety systems, and grounds.
  • Guest and Team Member Relations: Respond promptly and courteously to guest and team member inquiries, requests, and concerns.
  • Inventory Security: Ensure the security of tools, supplies, equipment, furniture, and other assets.
  • Fire Safety: Fulfill responsibilities related to fire brigade/fire safety duties.
  • Inspections and Record Keeping: Conduct inspections, projects, and maintenance repairs, maintaining accurate records.
  • Emergency Response: Address overnight and weekend emergencies as needed.
  • Detail-Oriented Maintenance: Perform maintenance and repair work on the interior and exterior of the building, hotel rooms, lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and other systems with meticulous attention to detail. Immediate corrective action for any paint chips, damaged furniture, etc. 
  • Personal Development: Become familiar with entire property, obtain fluency in Procore and use Absorb platform to further a wide array of skills 
  • Team Development: Assist in monitoring and developing team member performance, fostering a positive and professional work environment.

Housekeeping Aspects 

  • Housekeeping Oversight: Supervise housekeeping operations, ensuring all rooms are maintained to the highest standards.
  • Public Spaces Management: Oversee the maintenance and appearance of public spaces, ensuring a welcoming and well-maintained environment.
  • Third-Party Coordination: Collaborate effectively with a third-party housekeeping service company.
  • Trash Flow Management: Ensure proper and timely execution of trash flow throughout the property.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory levels of chemicals, cleaning supplies, tools, and other necessary items for housekeeping and public space maintenance.
  • Public Spaces Management: Oversee the maintenance and appearance of public spaces, ensuring a welcoming and well-maintained environment.
  • Team Development: Assist in monitoring and developing team member performance, fostering a positive and professional work environment.

 

The Ideal Candidate 

  • A passion for ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of property facilities to create a welcoming and efficient environment for residents and guests.
  • An understanding of property management principles, maintenance procedures, and health and safety regulations to uphold a high standard of living.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to efficiently manage property maintenance tasks and coordinate with various stakeholders.
  • The ability to lead and supervise a team of maintenance staff, ensuring collaboration and adherence to property standards.
  • Experience in both boutique and large format luxury properties, including overseeing maintenance schedules, managing vendor relationships, and implementing cost-effective solutions for property improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 to 3+ years in working with basic electrical, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing equipment and systems. 
  • Minimum of 1+ years in working in hospitality is a plus
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Expert knowledge of Building systems and ability to work without supervision as required as well as knowledge of various painting and finishing work
  • Strong communicator, leader, collaborator and brings positive team motivation when working on projects 
  • Ability to build professional relationships with all leaders and kitchen team and arrive to work prior to scheduled start to ensure you have appropriate time to situate, eat and be briefed on previous service and anticipated service 
  • Proactive, team-player who can work well independently as well as on a team
  • Flexible schedule and ability to work morning, night, weekend and holidays (as needed)
  • Ability to multitask and work in a demanding, fast-paced environment
