Position Overview
The Repair Technician/Engineer role is a key member of the Operations Team, diagnosing, maintaining and repairing all hardware and systems which are installed and maintained as part of the EMEA Operations Team. Their responsibilities include diagnostic testing of equipment which is returned to the repair center; repair or replacement of faulty components; recertification of radar equipment for ongoing operation; configuration of systems so they are ready for deployment; and application of software and images to systems.
The Repair Technician/Engineer has a systematic approach to repair work and has a high technical competence in a wide range of hardware and software repair. Root cause analysis in a structured manner is critical for this role, including the documenting of all actions and findings to enable trend analysis and preventative maintenance strategies to be delivered by the Operations Team.
The Repair Technician/Engineer will need to maintain accurate records of the stock stored and manage the booking in and out of equipment.
Responsibilities & Duties
Working as part of the Verra Mobility Repair Team:
Require you to either calibrate, test, or repair out of date and damaged equipment transferred to our workshop from our engineers based across the country.
Maintenance works completed on time and on schedule.
First Time Fix - for fault repairs requiring zero return to site for completion.
Accuracy of reporting carried out accurately and promptly (both technical and administrative).
Adherence to Verra Mobility’s policies and procedures.
Setting up and maintenance of test equipment.
Conducting test of finished product through specialized software and documenting the results.
PAT/FAT testing of specialized equipment.
Troubleshooting, fault finding, debugging, and product assembly.
Carry out equipment repairs to board level.
Complete root cause analysis of system faults.
SMT soldering.
Installation and configuration of Windows and drivers.
Using Disk imaging software.
Installing, using, and configuring software applications.
Updating BIOS
Network configuration of static IP addresses
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, documenting and escalating issues as and when necessary.
Qualifications
A Technician Certificate, diploma or equivalent level/experience in a technology field.
1+ years of experience repairing, maintaining, troubleshooting equipment.
Managing various project while working closely with other team members and leading as needed.
Can communicate well to those both technical and nontechnical.
Good understanding on manufacturing & assembly processes including soldering (conventional and surface mount components).
Knowledge of standard electrical test equipment including the ability to perform electrical safety, flash, and earth continuity testing.
Use of a Multi-meter to measure Voltage, Current and Continuity.
Basic use of an oscilloscope.
Competence in working with computers.
Understanding of software including Word and Excel.
Knowledge of safe electrical working practices.
Ability to create step by step test procedures.
Flexibility to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies as they emerge.
Lifting and moving equipment within the workshop and to and from the goods in receipt and dispatch area
Carrying equipment to and from locations (shelves to vans, vans to enclosures)
Having correct or corrected visions (i.e., not color blind/night blind)
Sitting/Standing for long periods of time.
Understand and adhere to the requirements of the WHS management system and immediately communicates and report hazards and incidents.
