Position Title: Health Data Associate

Reporting To: Content Operations Manager

Location: Newton, MA, Chapel Hill, NC, or New York, NY 

Compensation: $62,000-$72,000, depending on qualifications

Position Summary

As part of the Content Operations team, the primary mission of the Health Data Associate is to collect, translate, analyze, and report on data that supports Well’s goal to offer end-to-end support for all members to improve total health and reduce costs. In this role, you will collaborate with clinicians, data scientists, and health outcomes analysts to make a positive impact on the organization and on our members’ overall health. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Partner closely with our Clinicians and Data Scientists to define and translate the eligibility criteria of our health content into a machine-readable language usable by our proprietary AI health engine
  • Plan the process of collecting and maintaining a dynamic database of health facts, with information obtained from heterogeneous sources (including claims codes such as ICD10, NDC, CPT, as well as in-app responses)
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on data related to content eligibility and relevance with an emphasis on member impact to ensure clinical rigor and accuracy
  • Run queries and data analysis to support platform improvement and member experience initiatives
  • Support the team’s mission to be data-driven by synthesizing existing metrics into visually compelling reports that provide actionable insights for continuous improvement 
  • Build, test, and review short and long-form content for our app platform using an internal development tool
  • Take personal responsibility for keeping all Well systems and data, including sensitive member data, secure and safe, according to Well data and security policies and HIPAA guidelines

Minimum Qualifications

  • Coursework in Epidemiology, Statistics/Biostatistics, Public Health or other quantitative discipline 
  • Interest and/or experience in healthcare, public health, and/ or healthtech
  • Experience with some or all of the following:
    • SQL or a comparable querying language
    • Data analytics tools (such as Looker or Tableau)
    • Excel, including data management and advanced analysis functions
    • Statistical analysis tooling
  • Research experience and analytical skills
  • Meticulous, logical attention to detail with high quality standards 
  • Excellent communication and strong collaboration skills
  • Flexibility, initiative and willingness to learn 
  • Excellent time management and project management skills
  • Openness to fast-paced problem solving in a highly technical environment
