We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who specialises in iOS development and is passionate about creating innovative, accessible solutions that meet the needs of our users. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing and developing high-quality iOS apps, with a strong focus on accessibility and usability. They will have experience implementing good practices and guidelines to ensure the highest standards of accessibility and will be committed to staying up-to-date with the latest trends in accessibility technology. In addition to technical expertise, the ideal candidate should demonstrate great communication skills, an ability to collaborate within cross-functional teams, and have experience mentoring other team members.

Tasks

About the Role

Location: Remote

Salary range: max £60k per annum

We are seeking Senior Software Engineers to join our team and develop native iOS apps that can be integrated with our APIs and ecosystem.

As a member of the team, your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Design and develop advanced applications for the iOS/ipadOS platform
  • Collaborate with our product and design teams to ensure that our app meets the highest standards of accessibility, usability, and performance
  • Write clean, well-documented, and well-tested code for robustness
  • Guide and help the team improve development efficiency
  • Implement best practices for code quality, version control, CI/CD, and deployment
  • Continuously study, evaluate, and implement the latest iOS technologies and trends

Requirements

About You

We expect you to:

  • Proven experience as an iOS Developer, with at least 4 years of experience
  • Proficiency in Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit
  • Fully master the use of some popular libraries: Combine, Alamofire, Kingfisher, etc.
  • Strong understanding of iOS accessibility and usability guidelines, and experience implementing them in code, such as the VoiceOver
  • Experience with Programmatic UI frameworks such as SnapKit or Auto Layout
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as CircleCI
  • Experience working with remote data via REST

The following are not essential but would be well-received by us in respect to this role:

  • Industry knowledge of the general mobile landscape, frameworks, and emerging technologies
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and software development best practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Great communication and collaboration skills
  • A passion for building accessible and inclusive products

  • Coding challenge: you will be given a 1.5-hour coding challenge to complete at your convenience. The coding challenge will test your technical skills and ability to solve problems using iOS technologies. We encourage you to spend as much time as you need to polish the solution to your satisfaction. Once you have completed the coding challenge, you will have the opportunity to submit your solution and receive feedback from our team.
  • Communication session: if you pass the coding challenge, we will schedule a 1-hour communication session to evaluate your communication and collaboration skills. During this session, you will have the opportunity to learn more about our company and culture and ask any questions you may have.
  • Negotiation stage: if the communication session is successful, we will enter into the negotiation stage where we will discuss compensation and other details of the job offer.
