As a member of the BlueSkyRisk Construction team, you'll play a pivotal role in our mission to offer specialized insurance solutions for the construction sector. This dynamic work environment located in Atlanta, Georgia provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of the construction team early on. Joining us at this early stage means being part of a team that values innovation and a commitment to meeting the distinct needs of the construction industry and our broker partners. Your role will involve close collaboration with the Program Lead and Underwriters offering a unique, hands-on learning experience.
To excel in this job, you must be comfortable working with a moderate level of ambiguity while finding solutions to new problems in a fast-paced environment. This entry-level position will be responsible for underwriting administrative needs and helping to build both our brand and organization.
Risk Management and Insurance majors are preferred, but all degrees are welcome. Insurance experience is also preferred but not required for this position.
In this position you will
• Thoroughly review applications, conduct initial underwriting assessments, and process submissions for Builder’s Risk accounts.
• Skillfully identify and collect relevant account information for new business submissions including but not limited to budgets, site plans, geotechnical reports, engineering documents, appraisals, and property condition analysis reports.
• Collaborate with Underwriters in various new business activities to bolster marketing efforts and make underwriting decisions aligned with growth objectives.
• Efficiently process quotes, binders, policies, endorsements, and extensions to ensure seamless operational flow.
• Establish and maintain business relationships with specialized insurance brokers.
• Effectively coordinate and schedule inspections while monitoring compliance with recommended actions.
• Manage account documentation and proactively seek additional information as required before and after binding coverage.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree. Risk Management & Insurance degree is preferred but not required.
• Demonstrate self-motivation, detail-oriented, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, earlystage, high-growth setting.
• Demonstrate ability to excel both independently and collaboratively within team environments.
• Proven analytical skills including the ability to identify and report problems or errors while managing substantial amounts of detailed information.
• Strong math skills with an emphasis on problem-solving.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations within and outside of the company.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and G-Suite products.
• Commercial property & casualty experience is preferred but not required.
• Property & Casualty License required after 2 months of employment.
