Book Sales Administrator - Fixed Term Contract

Description
The role of a Book Sales Administrator at Emerald Publishing is intended to provide general administrative support across the Books Sales Team, particularly around the holidays and during busy periods. A successful candidate will have a strong sense of teamwork, flexibility, and a willingness to learn new skills in support of the team and our stakeholders.
Please note - you will work mostly from home, but you will be required to attend our office in Leeds once a month for team days, and quarterly for company-wide events.
Day to day we’ll trust you to:
- Manage invoicing and logistics for buybacks and special bulk purchases
- Monitor the Books Sales Inbox and address queries. Those queries may include, as examples:
o Obtaining quotes for our customers
o Order status/shipping enquiry with one or both of our distributors
o Liaising between our distributor and customers/vendors around standing order updates or status requests
o Answering stock & pricing availability questions
- Process orders received through the ICE Bookshop
- Communicate with customers about closing open invoices
- Compile needed information from other internal departments (i.e. Marketing, Publishing, Content Solutions, etc.)
- Provide submission grids to agents and customers
- Compile reports & links monthly for our agents
- Monitor Amazon metadata, orders and tracking, follow up with support tickets to resolve issues if necessary
- Review and process Faculty e-Inspection copy requests through Digicomps
- Send follow-up emails to faculty members about their Adoption decisions
- Communicate adoption information to relevant to agents
- Set up Books additional resources in our systems
- Compile and circulate miscellaneous sales reports as needed
- Order Books, Flyers and Catalogs for conferences
- Manage shipping logistics for conference materials
- Update post-publication metadata in our Title Management System
- Assist with stock level checks
- Support seasonal and ongoing Team Projects
You’ll need to have:
- Proficient Excel skills
- Effective time management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A professional demeanour when interacting with external customers and authors

Roles are advertised at a benchmarked market median rate. Offers will be made within a range of the median, depending on skills and experience.
