About the role: Eagle Creek Renewable Energy owns and/or operates 85 hydroelectric facilities throughout the United States and is currently seeking a talented Junior FP&A Analyst to join a growing, nimble, and diverse Finance Team. The ideal candidate will be a highly curious self-starter and have a strong background in data analysis, financial modeling, and a demonstrated ability to work with complex data sets. This role will report to the Director of Corporate Finance and will be primarily focused on Financial Reporting & Analysis, budgeting, project analysis, KPI tracking, and other data analysis as necessary. It will be an excellent opportunity to gain expertise in these areas.
What You’ll Do:
Data Analysis: Perform comprehensive data analysis on a wide range of financial, operational, and property-related data sets.
Financial Modeling: Build and maintain financial models to support various financial planning and decision-making processes, with a particular emphasis on discounted cash flows, debt sizing and integrated three statement financial models.
Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts, budgeting, and long-term planning. Help identify risks and opportunities to achieve the company's financial objectives.
Data Integrity: Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of operations, financial and property-related data sets. Implement data quality control measures to prevent errors.
Reporting: Generate regular and ad-hoc reports for management, presenting findings and recommendations clearly and concisely. Develop interactive visualizations to effectively communicate data-driven insights.
Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and market conditions that may impact the company's financial performance. Provide recommendations based on research.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Accounting, Operations, Projects, Asset Management, and Commercial Strategy departments, to gather information, provide support, and address financial queries.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
1-3 years of experience in financial analysis, data analysis, or a related role.
Proficiency in financial modeling and discounted cash flow analysis.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools.
Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint.
Proficiency in SQL for data retrieval and manipulation.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A proactive attitude and a willingness to take ownership of tasks and projects.
Prior experience with Acumatica, Adaptive Insights, or PowerBI a plus
Experience working with data warehouses and familiarity with data warehousing concepts a plus
