We are expanding our Adoption Support Team and are recruiting two additional support workers to support our children and adoptive families.
On 01 April 2020, Blackpool Council and Lancashire County Council formed a Regional Adoption Agency (RAA): Adoption Lancashire and Blackpool. Lancashire County Council are the host authority for the RAA, which provides a comprehensive service to families across the region. The RAA delivers the following services on behalf of the partner Local Authorities: Recruitment & Assessment of adopters; Adoption Support & Family Finding.
We are excited to be expanding the support available to our adoptive children and their families having created two additional fixed term support worker positions within our Adoption Support Team. The successful applicants will be delivering life story work to children and young people who have been adopted to help them to better understand their own personal story, giving them an opportunity to explore their history and wider history of their birth family. These posts are currently for a two-year fixed term period. Relevant training to undertake this work will be provided to the successful applicants.
