Vehicle & Plant Technicians
Team: Fleet Services Locations: Preston
OTE £42,000 (Achieved with additional 6-hours overtime per week and one week per month standby callout)
Basic Salary up to £33,945, plus £440 annual tool supplement.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for skilled, enthusiastic and experienced vehicle & plant technicians to join our large engineering team at Lancashire County Council Fleet Services. The role is currently based at our Preston depot to service and maintain a wide and varied range of vehicles and plant machinery to high standards.
Working on such a wide range of vehicles requires technicians / mechanics from all areas of the industry; our team consists of many talented technicians bringing different experience together to provide an exceptional service for Lancashire County Council. Our customers provide vital public services to the residents of Lancashire including Highways, Street Lighting, Waste, Passenger Transport and Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service. Job Role
The successful candidates will be responsible for:
• Vehicle inspections and preparing vehicles to MOT and roadworthiness standards in compliance with the organisation's O license regulations.
• Repair and maintenance on a wide range of vehicles and plant in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards.
• Diagnostic fault finding using a range of up-to-date tools & equipment.
• Breakdown and reactive repairs.
• On site call outs and repairs.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic diagnostics and repairs.
