We are currently recruiting Skilled Arborists
The Environmental Services Team is part of Lancashire Highways Service which is responsible for the direct delivery of all highways related schemes and maintenance across the County made up of 4300 miles of road, 151,000 streetlights, 2955 bridges, thousands of trees and miles of vegetation. The Environmental Services Team also works in partnership with other Lancashire County Council departments to provide quality arboricultural services at a wide range of Lancashire County Council sites.
We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable people with a current, full driving licence and with knowledge and experience of arboriculture within grounds or highway maintenance, preferably with specific experience of offering technical support.
As this role involves working on the highway network, we also require someone with an awareness of Health and Safety Legislation pertaining to highways maintenance and traffic management.

Our main base of work is Cuerden Depot, Cuerden Way, Bamber Bridge PR5 6BJ, however being a countywide service, you may be required to work from one of our other depots across the county or from working sites.
Your daily work will take you to all corners of Lancashire on sites including highways, countryside, activity centres, libraries, care homes, youth centres and tourist attractions.

As part of our commitment on continuous improvement, how we deliver our service is regularly reviewed. Therefore, job roles may change, and post holder may be required to work elsewhere within the service.
This role requires mandatory participation in the annual winter maintenance rota. This involves overtime working covering nights, weekends and bank holidays for which you will receive an enhancement to your basic rate of pay. Are you prepared to participate in this rota?
