What We're Looking For
The Director of Strategic Marketing for Basketball will be building and executing strategic marketing campaigns to promote Baylor’s celebrated men’s and women’s basketball programs. This position works across External teams and with key partners to generate excitement and interest in Baylor basketball, leading to increased attendance and ticket sales, while contributing to overall departmental marketing objectives.
A Bachelor's degree, three years of experience and an active Christian faith are required. A Master's degree and five years of experience is preferred.
Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis.
What You Will Do
Build and deliver marketing strategies for men’s and women’s basketball programs that lead to ticket sales, revenue generation and increased attendance and participation in home basketball events.
Ensure campaign success through consistent collaboration with members of the Athletics Department and Baylor campus, including External Areas (Fan Engagement, Communications, Bear Foundation and Creative Services), Basketball coaching staffs, Student Activities and others.
Work with internal and external partners to execute digital and traditional advertising campaigns that drive ticket sales, event attendance and overall engagement for Baylor basketball programs.
Design and manage robust email marketing program within Baylor’s email marketing platform. Work with vendor to create automated workflows and campaigns that support basketball marketing efforts.
Develop new ideas and processes that will enhance current promotions and fan experiences.
Assist in executing all community marketing plans, creative collateral, including but not limited to in-game and in-market activations, special events and other miscellaneous items.
Maintain detailed planning records, track campaign performances, utilize project management tools, recap campaigns, communicate creative, adjust marketing plans and research media trends.
Assist Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing Strategy with special projects and campaigns, email communications and other departmental priorities.
Must understand media trends and have knowledge on media buys and social media marketing strategies.
Act as a brand ambassador aligning the use of Baylor Brand Guidelines with all external-facing basketball marketing efforts.
Maintain working knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA, Big 12 Conference, and institution rules and regulations and to communicate immediately any possible infractions of such rules and regulations to the Athletics Compliance staff.
Other program duties as requested by the Director of Athletics or area head.
Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
Ability to comply with University policies
Maintain regular and punctual attendance
