Job Details
The successful candidate will hold a Diploma in Social Work (or equivalent). newly qualified Social Workers (NQSWs) will also be considered. The successful candidate will work in a busy team and will carry a varied caseload, working with adults within the justice system with a range of needs. This includes those with mental health difficulties, learning difficulties, drug-related issues and other issues.
Experience of working in Justice Services would be advantageous but not essential. However, the successful candidates should have the ability to work creatively in a solution-focused way, be a team player and show a positive ‘can-do’ attitude.
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out a range of assessments, case management and write reports, including:

The Person
If not already registered, you are required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up employment of this role and to complete the required post registration training and learning (PRTL) over the registration period.
Diploma in Social Work (or equivalent).
Knowledge and understanding of the justice system as it applies to Social Work.
You should also have a good understanding of the challenges of the client group and must be prepared to work with those who have committed violent and sexual offences.
Ability to travel within Fife and to external locations.
Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
