Salary: Grade 6, £23,898 - £24,300 (pro rata for part-time) 

Working Hours: 1x Full time (37 hours per week) and 1x Half time (18.5 Hours per week). Standard office hours are Monday – Thursday 8.30 – 5pm and Friday 8.30 – 4.30pm. Flexible working will be considered.

Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role

The Adaptations Team is a small, friendly team based in the Adult Social Care OT Service. We support various commissioning teams in Adult Social Care, Health and the private sector to provide adaptations and equipment to ensure the best possible outcomes for the people we work with across Leicestershire.

We are looking to appoint 1.5 full time equivalent Adaptations Assistants (2 posts - one 37 hours per week and one 18.5 hours per week) to process referrals for minor adaptations and arrange for equipment installations and servicing in people’s homes across Leicestershire. 

Main duties will include processing referrals for minor adaptations and placing orders for works to be completed or equipment to be installed, checking on the progress of work and chasing contractors, communicating with local District and Borough Councils and private landlords regarding work in their properties and processing invoices for works carried out. It will also include speaking to the public about the progress of referrals and queries about their equipment.

 

About You

To apply for this post, you must:

 

  • Have 5 GCSE’s (grades A-C)/NVQ level 2 or equivalent; or experience in an admin setting and/or experience relevant to the post.
  • Be computer literate, including Microsoft Word, Excel & Office, and experience using databases and keeping accurate records.
  • Ability to communicate with members of the public, contractors and organisations we work with, on the phone and via email. 
  • Experience of placing orders, paying invoices and dealing with queries about orders and payments. 
  • Experience of working as part of a team

You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
