Job Description:
Southern Utah University seeks candidates for a Lecturer in Kinesiology. This is a full-time non-tenure track position. Successful candidates will teach in our Exercise Science undergraduate program. This position offers an outstanding benefits package including a 14.2% employer contribution to retirement (with no match required), preferred health and dental insurance, disability & life insurance, and employer contributions to HSA.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach 15 credits per semester (Fall, Spring) in the Exercise Science program. Teaching responsibilities will primarily include multiple sections of PE 1098, Wellness Dynamics. This is an undergraduate, general education (GE) course.
Prioritize educating and coaching students in personal health and wellness.
Maintain contemporary expertise in health and wellness and associated curricula.
May also teach other undergraduate courses in Exercise Science and/or Physical Education.
Enthusiasm for helping students achieve and commitment to academic excellence are essential.
Primary emphasis is on teaching. However, professional commitment, and service to the university are expected and required for advancement.
Participate in department and campus community committees as assigned.
Collaborate with colleagues to evaluate and accommodate changes and improvements within the department, college, and university.
Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Earned master's degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or related field. (PhD preferred).
Experience as a health and wellness coach is preferred.
NBC-HWC is a preferred qualification. Other similar certifications such ACSM-EP, ACSM-CEP, NSCA-CSCS, or comparable are beneficial.
Demonstrated ability to engage in scholarly activities preferred.
Ability to incorporate experiential education into teaching.
Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, leadership and teamwork skills.
