Job Summary
Attain expertise in all aspects of the Van Resource Centre (VRC) to become a subject matter authority. Actively promote and sell new VRC Contracts to current members and potential clients not utilizing the services. Identify, develop, and oversee a pipeline of VRC opportunities, ensuring they meet revenue and margin targets. Collaborate with Logistics UK stakeholders to ensure future contracts align with customer needs. Exceed business targets for invoiced revenue and margin. Monitor the onboarding process for new contracts, providing ongoing training and support to users. Offer specialised assistance to relevant stakeholders internally and externally. Improve data storage and management across Logistics UK systems.Gather market intelligence to enhance service approach and alignment with market needs. Share insights across Logistics UK for improved service delivery. Maintain competitor data and offerings to support broader teams and departmental knowledge.
Responsibilities
Identify opportunities for offering Van Resource Centre (VRC) and other Logistics UK services to both existing and potential clients, whether they are actively trading or not.
Provide specialised support for VRC products and services to the commercial team, including offering advice and conducting presentations, both face-to-face and virtually. Attend joint visits when necessary.
Meet assigned sales targets for new VRC contract revenue within the designated timeframe.
Manage the administrative processes for onboarding new VRC customers.
Oversee initial and ongoing training and support for all stakeholders involved with the customer's VRC usage.
Gather customer feedback to address any obstacles hindering the successful conversion of new business opportunities.
Translate customer requirements into actionable operational strategies through accurate qualification.
Compile and deliver VRC management information, such as fleet dashboard data, to customers ranging from local Transport Managers to Board level, utilising appropriate presentation methods as needed.
Communicate regularly with designated Account Managers to provide updates on opportunity status and address any issues that arise.
Continuously monitor VRC information and conduct scheduled update meetings to ensure customers have accurate data, promoting safe and efficient logistics.
Explore avenues for maximising the value of secured contracts for both customers and Logistics UK, aligning with annual targets.
Forward any leads for additional services that arise from discussions to the appropriate Account Manager, Contract Manager, or department.
Represent Logistics UK at various public events such as Trade Shows, Seminars, and Council Events.
Requirements
This post would benefit from experience in understanding of the creation and establishing of fleet policies and procedures, from vehicle acquisition to replacement, including vehicle specification, purchase methods and tracking total cost of ownership.
Candidates will have experience in all aspects of running a fleet operation including monitoring fleet costs and ensuring they remain within budgets. Managing strict vehicle maintenance and servicing schedules to minimise downtime. Monitoring driver behaviour, implementing driver development strategies and taking disciplinary action where necessary. Overseeing the entire fleet maintenance requirements and have had overall responsibility for cost for operating a large fleet of vehicles.
Candidates will have strong organisation and relationship building skills, will be self starters, able to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally and be computer literate.
Experience in a consultative direct sales role and successful pipeline management to deliver targets is required.
