As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Augmented Reality (AR) Team at Google is building the future of immersive computing. We are a fast moving team with engineers, designers, and research scientists tasked to build the next generation technology to shape people’s way of living in an imaginable way. Through the development of ARCore, we enabled augmented reality experiences on devices. We are working on technologies, enabling the next generation of immersive experiences, through collaborations with teams across Google, and our third-party partners.

The Google Augmented Reality team is a diverse group of experts tasked with building the foundations for great immersive computing and building helpful, delightful user experiences. We're focused on making immersive computing accessible to billions of people through mobile devices, and our scope continues to grow and evolve.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a reliable and visible cadence for program reviews, decision-making, prioritization, and Resource Stewardship (e.g., effective deployment of machine and people resources) whereby improvements such as efficiency and utilization gains are measurable and the impact can be felt organization wide. 
  • Lead a governance structure that drives effective executive decision-making. Ensure governance structure effectively exposes and mitigates dependencies. 
  • Define/manage a program portfolio solving problems that target high business impact for the organization and product area.
  • Serve as a Technical Lead, guiding more junior members of the team in driving progress towards critical milestones.
  • Be a key cross-functional coordinator to enable a seamless communication of risks, dependencies, and schedules across hardware, software, platform, and horizontal teams.
