Job Descrption

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in sourcing, category management, or procurement roles, with a focus on managing indirect spend categories.
  • Experience with sourcing strategies, RFx processes, negotiations, and supplier evaluations within designated categories.
  • Experience with agreements and partnering with cross-functional partners.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree.
  • Certification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience analyzing procurement data, generating reports, and providing insights to support decision-making and performance evaluation within the category.
  • Experience developing, managing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and metrics to measure category performance and track progress.
  • Experience leveraging technology and analytic tools to enhance category management practices and drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead strategic projects aimed at improving processes, implementing new strategies, or driving innovation.

Within the Google Procurement Organization, the Category Management team partners closely with key stakeholders to help shape and implement procurement strategies. The Category team is responsible for developing and driving holistic category strategies, managing stakeholder relationships, and bringing excellence to Google-wide sourcing, supplier, and contract management.

In this role, you will be responsible for pioneering innovative category and sourcing strategies, cultivating strategic supplier relationships, and optimizing spend categories through data-driven insights to unlock value for Google.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000-$191,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Support development and execution of category strategies aligned with organizational objectives for assigned indirect spend categories.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality service delivery and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Support execution of sourcing strategies, RFx processes, negotiations, and supplier evaluations within designated categories.
  • Analyze spending patterns, market trends, and identify value opportunities within the category.
  • Analyze procurement data, generate reports, and provide insights to support decision-making and performance evaluation within the category.
