Faculty / Directorate
Interior Design at De Montfort University sits within the Design Department, in the School of Art, Design and Architecture, in the Faculty of Arts, Design and Humanities. Consisting of three distinct but inter-related areas – Interior Design, Product Design and Design Craft, we are well equipped to foster dynamic cross-disciplinary dialogue and... practice.
Role
We are seeking to appoint adjunct lecturers to support the full-time teaching team in the delivery of the BA Hons Interior Design programme at DMU Dubai from the beginning of October. Applicants should be based in the UAE, educated to Masters degree level (or higher), and have experience of teaching and assessment in Higher Education and also have proven industry experience - with extensive knowledge and expertise related to at least two key aspects of the core Interior Design curriculum; Design, visual communication, construction technology and practice, design history, theory, heritage, culture, and context. It is important to contribute specialist knowledge and skills in one or more of the programme’s specialist areas namely, design for the following environments: Leisure and Hospitality, Retail, Living and Working from home, Exhibition, Performance, Spiritual and Promotional Events (including Visual Merchandising).
Ideal Candidate
You must be passionate about teaching the next generation of interior designers to challenge their future industry and help make the changes needed to tackle the climate emergency and engender social change. Qualifications: Level 6 Qualification / Master degree in Interior Design/ Architecture. Must be computer proficient in software such as Adobe suite, Rhino, SketchUp, 3Ds Max, AutoCAD, Lumion and Vray. Experience: Must have experience in teaching Interior Design theory and history alongside Software.
