Position Overview: We are looking for Students of all ages/Recent Graduates for the role of Intern Student Counsellor. You will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to students within our educational institution. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the professional counsellors in promoting the well-being and academic success of students. This internship offers a unique opportunity for you to gain practical experience in the field of counseling while contributing to the personal and academic development of our student community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Individual Counseling: Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with students to address their academic, personal, and emotional concerns. Listen actively, provide empathy, and offer appropriate guidance to help students navigate challenges effectively.
• Group Counseling: Assist in organizing and facilitating group counseling sessions on relevant topics, such as stress management, study skills, time management... and other issues affecting student well-being.
• Crisis Intervention: Collaborate with senior counselors during times of student crisis or emergencies. Be prepared to provide immediate support and appropriate referrals when needed.
• Academic Support: Help students develop effective study habits, time management skills, and strategies to enhance their academic performance.
• Resource Referrals: Identify and connect students with appropriate resources both within the institution and in the community, such as tutoring services, mental health professionals, and academic advisors.
• Workshops and Presentations: Support the development and delivery of workshops and presentations on mental health, stress reduction, and related topics to raise awareness and educate the student body.
• Data Recording and Reporting: Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions and related activities. Assist in preparing reports and statistics as required.
• Collaborative Approach: Collaborate with other campus departments, faculty, and staff to ensure a comprehensive approach to student support and well-being.
• Professional Development: Participate in training sessions, workshops, and ongoing education opportunities to enhance your counseling skills and knowledge.
• Ethical Standards: Uphold the ethical guidelines and confidentiality requirements of the counseling profession.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Enrolled in a relevant degree program (e.g., Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated empathy, patience, and non-judgmental attitude towards students.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Understanding of diverse backgrounds and cultures, and the ability to be culturally sensitive.
• Willingness to learn and take direction from senior counseling staff.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills and data management.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends as needed.
Note: This internship provides a valuable learning experience, but it does not confer any formal counseling licensure or certification. The intern student counsellor will work under the supervision and guidance of licensed professional counselors.

NOTE: This will be an Unpaid Internship which will turn into a permanent position based on performance.

• Dubai: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
Contract length: 2 months
Pay: From AED1.00 per month
