Our Non-emergency... patient transport support Level 3 , Programme is all about developing the skills required to become a subject matter expert. WHAT KIND OF WORK WILL I DO?

As an Ambulance Care Assistant, successful candidates will have a calm and caring nature, and be a safe and confident driver.
• Transporting non-emergency patients to and from hospitals, clinics or other healthcare facilities
• Working as a single or double crew, responsible for either driving the ambulance or supporting the travelling patient
• Regular heavy-lifting, using equipment such as wheelchairs, stretchers and carry chairs
• Assisting patients in and out of the ambulance, ensuring their comfort and safety during transportation
• Liaising with healthcare professionals and other staff to ensure a high level of patient care
• Completing patient documentation and reports accurately and in a timely manner
• Maintaining the ambulance equipment and supplies, ensuring they are clean and in good working condition

All relevant training will be given as part of your induction into the role.

WHAT WILL I LEARN ON MY APPRENTICESHIP?

During your time on the apprenticeship and in partnership with Medipro, you will learn the below and many more
• Basic life support and external automated defibrillation
• Oxygen administration
• Understanding medical conditions including, anaphylaxis, diabetes, asthma, chest pain, hypoxia, strokes, seizures
• Managing trauma conditions including, bleeding, burns, shock, epistaxis, head injuries, fractures, sprains
• Understanding mental illnesses and first response
• Major incident response and initial triage

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

Please remember that you may not be eligible for this apprenticeship if you already have qualifications or gained experience within this or a similar sector.
• you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years as it is a government funded apprenticeship programme and be able to provider all Right to work documents. We do not sponsor student VISAs.
• A full UK driving licence is essential
• A caring and understanding nature, with friendly manner
• The ability to work in a role that requires regular heavy-lifting of patients, as well as exposure to bodily fluids (including urine, faeces, vomit and blood) - All relevant training will be given.
• A calm and considerate driver with good knowledge of UK road signs and the Highway Code
• You must pass a drug and alcohol test
• You must provide your last 5 years of address history
• You must provide your full employment history and CV (starting from day 1 of employment)

• Compensation: £26,161.20 per annum starting salary. As an Apprentice your salary will increase throughout the programme.?
