Job Descrption
We are looking for a Senior Marine Project Engineer for our client who is a leading player in the oil and gas industry.

The Senior Marine Project Engineer will be responsible to carry-out and coordinate the completion of various projects for marine department, from basic design to final commissioning, they will be involved in all technical parts of the Project.

The Marine Project Engineer will support and act on potential development, design, specification, and services related to FSO, FPSO, mooring systems, marine systems and marine equipment.

The Marine Project Engineer is accountable for life extension studies and technical evaluation of various engineering studies to ensure a continuous and optimized operations of the units.

This position is based in London, United Kingdom.

Essential Skills

Good technical knowledge on engineering design and life extension studies for floating units in Deepwater Projects in the key project phases (conversion and after design phase). Good... working knowledge with GeniE-SESAM, USFOS, Orcaflex, Abaqus, Ansys, etc.

Main Responsibilities and Activities

Support to Production / Operation team
• Experience in offshore platform and floater projects, able to take lead in engineering studies with respect to Class / statutory and other regulatory requirements within the area of competence and as per tasks assigned.
• Provide design, operational and maintenance support to the operating units in terms of marine systems such as:
• Hull inspections and repair;
• Mooring, cargo, ballast and other marine systems;
• Offload systems;
• Navigation / Radio equipment.
• Implements, executes and coordinates engineering detailed design related to the concept and basic design up to delivery, including definition of equipment and systems refurbishment related to FPSO/FSO/Semi-Submersibles Hull Systems.
• Check or prepare Marine/Ship systems PFDs, Marine/Ship systems P&IDs, perform and check utility balance calculations, if needed.
• Definition and development of tank repairs strategy in order to perform scope optimization.
• Perform package/equipment technical bid review, technical clarification and technical evaluation
• Manage and review marine engineering package's deliverables.
• Review shipyard's detailed engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Assist construction, installation and commissioning team, when needed.
• Actively contribute with technical and advisory support to Operations Managers / Marine Integrity Managers and offshore units for above systems.

Design of the facilities:
• Safe design of the facilities compliant with the company policies and international standards & regulations.
• Support on design modifications to ensure operability, maintainability and reliability of the facilities.
• Reviewing and Challenging Integrity management operations that may impact production. Emergency response planning/preparedness of response strategy.
• Provide technical and execution support to marine integrity engineers / team.

Project Management:
• Provide technical support to internal pre-project activities.
• Provide support in the budget preparation.
• Review and prepare work schedules.
• Follow-up of commitments, expenses, and cost forecast.
• Coordination with internal support services (Supply chain, Legal, HSE, Technical Support)
• Coordination with internal operations team (Subsidiary management, Offshore site, Logistics, Integrity Team)
• Accountable for his project delivery
• Project risks identification and mitigation
• Project close-out and handover to operations

HSEQ responsibilities:
• Support and enforce company’s HSEQ objectives and directives
• Risk Prioritization of Area identified risks and mitigation measures.
• Participation in the HAZID/HAZOP/Risk Assessments & provide input from Marine team point of view.
• Promote HSEQ awareness of workforce and contractors and ensure that HSE is given the highest priority.
• Listen to, evaluate any project team member’s concerns; ensure that potential failures, weaknesses and hazards are immediately addressed and reported.
• Conduct alignment sessions for project management team members with respect to objectives .

Qualifications & Experience
• Full-time bachelor’s degree in naval or naval architecture from an accredited university.
• >7 years relevant experiences in the oil and gas industry. Ideally from one of the following specialties: Floaters life extension and engineering calculations and design studies development.
• Oil and Gas Industry experience in green-field and brown-field projects delivering offshore Floating Facilities
• Scantling reassessment knowledge.
• Competent in relationship management working with a diverse set of stakeholders including contractors and government regulators.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels in the field and in the office as well as outside of the company.
• Fluent English and French is mandatory.
• Proven track record of strong Continuous Improvement skills
