JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The... International Development Team (IDO) purpose is to support and enable local teams to perform at the highest level by establishing a solid core. We provide oversight of our International Development Platform (Europe, APAC, South America), with a focus on the creation and maintenance of tools, systems and processes to grow development capabilities, and drive productivity and consistency across the International development business.

The Analyst will join the International Development Operations team to support all aspects of development, including supporting International leadership in oversight of the development businesses, facilitating the Investment Committee process for international approved developments, managing the base international development proforma model and associated memos, and managing the monthly construction status update documents for all international development projects. In addition, the role will include working across markets with respective local teams to perform financial analysis of development performance, interfacing with the Company’s key stakeholders. The Analyst will support managing central processes and systems, and contributing to the continual improvement of Greystar’s International development platform.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Role Responsibilities
• Provide real-time support and resource to the International Development Teams.
• Support Greystar’s development operations team to define and Implement best practice in International markets.
• Manage sustainable and efficient processes applicable to International development teams including: proforma and financial model reviews and maintenance, development and construction software implementation, research and feasibility best practices, development and construction status reporting and financial due diligence.
• Manages the creation and maintenance of the development metrics.
• Identifies, investigates and participates in the creation of forms, templates, checklists or other necessary materials related to development as part of the efforts of the Development Operations Team.
• Works with the International Development Operations team and International teams to maintain the development underwriting model, including updates and related training support.
• Participates in the monthly Development and Construction Status Review for all International deals through compiling monthly packs and deal notes.
• Gathers, compiles, investigates, and analyses market data, design, feasibility, planning, preconstruction, and asset management factors to provide platform insights.
• Completes various human resources, financial, administrative, and other reports and analysis, and performs other duties as assigned or as necessary.

Knowledge & Qualifications
• Educated to degree level or equivalent (2:1 and above) in a related business or analytical subject; such as finance, business management, real estate, accounting, economics, mathematics, statistics; science or engineering.
• Strong work ethic. Willingness to collaborate. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• IT literate and fully conversant with all Microsoft packages including PowerPoint (Advanced level) and Excel (Advanced level). Ability to create and audit detailed financial models in Excel.
• General understanding and/or interest to learn about building regulations, technical building specifications, planning application processes and construction processes.

Experience & Skills

Essential:
• Demonstrable experience with financial modelling within investment banking, real estate, private equity or other related finance position – evidenced with practical workplace experience.
• Strong qualitative analytical skills; having the ability to research, analyse and present complex financial data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; including the ability to effectively write and present a strategic or investment thesis.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships and influence at all levels.
• Good organisation skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure and to deadlines.
• Self-motivated and proactive, both with respect to managing workload and having the resourcefulness to figure out ‘difficult to find’ solutions.
• Naturally inquisitive with a desire to understand the bigger picture and get involved with wider team and business objectives.
• A positive team player, with an adaptable and flexible approach along with ability to work collaboratively to drive results and support the wider team and business objectives.
• Experience working in multifamily (build to rent) sector or on residential development projects.

Desirable:
• Fluency in a second language.
• Member or working towards membership of professional qualification (RICS or equivalent).
• Development and project management experience on residential/mixed use schemes.
• Experience or exposure to large scale phased development projects
