Information:
Position: Security Officer
Location: Farringdon (EC1M)
Pay Rate: £13.70 per hour
Hours: Average 56 hours per week
Shifts: 3 Days, 3 Nights, 3 Off
Job Requirements:
SIA Licence (DS or SG) required
CCTV licence & First Aid qualification will be a bonus
Excellent PC skills and Microsoft knowledge required
Experience of... working in a demanding, high-pressure environment
Customer focused, with a strong knowledge of customer service skills
Demonstrate a strong aptitude for multi-tasking
Excellent written and verbal communication
Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
Team player, who will support colleagues and provide ideas to improve service delivery
Ability to think and act quickly in emergency incidents or under pressure
Job Responsibilities:
Deliver and encourage outstanding customer service delivery
The Security Officer will need to be able to spend reasonable periods of the time during a 12-hour shift both on patrol and standing on post
They will be expected to cover the CCTV Controller for any absence.
Ensure full understanding of the emergency procedures
Ensure a full understanding of the assignment instructions
Ensure their post is correctly manned at the specific times. This includes being on post at latest, the start time of your shift
Ensure SIA licence is always on your person and on display
Respond to all incidents in line with policies and procedures
To carry out the various site patrols as per the patrol schedule
To carry out any additional patrols as instructed by management
Report any discrepancies/incidents whilst on patrol to the security control room
Carry out FOH duties and cover the FOH Officer for any absence
Control access and egress at Front of House or Back of House
Manage a polite and effective meet and greet service to all staff and visitors, whilst strictly observing access control procedures
Ensure those who should not be granted access to the building are professionally and politely prevented from gaining access or escorted from the building
Carry out ID checks in line with instructions issued
Provide tenants and visitors to the building with helpful advice, guidance and information. And if not able to do so, direct to the correct personnel who can assist
Respond as per the policies and procedures in all emergency incidents and evacuations
Respond to these in a calm and professional manner. Actively provide information to any emergency services when required to do so
Deal with conflict in an appropriate and confident manner, if required
Cover for the CCTV Controller for any absence and partake in relevant CCTV Controller training as part of your Security Officer role
Ensure you are immaculately presented, in accordance with company regulations and client expectations
Report security or safety issues to the security control room or management
Carry out a thorough handover when changing duties or at the start or end of each shift
