About the role
The role of the Senior Lab Technician focuses on providing technical research support to users of the ISH Heritage Science Laboratories and data analysis; writing technical reports, as well as supporting fieldwork. You will: - provide technical and solution-driven support, - develop protocols for experiments and new techniques or new practical class activities for students and staff at all levels, - apply methods of analysis in situ, i.e. to... heritage collections in collaboration with heritage organisations, - develop and maintain laboratory resources. About you
A degree in a physical science or engineering subject (chemistry, physics, forensic, material science, heritage science, archaeological science or similar), with considerable practical knowledge of spectrometric, microscopic and imaging analytical methods, as well as data analysis software, and experience with technical maintenance of laboratory equipment. - Ability to work in a collaborative research environment working with different stakeholders. - Ability to work independently and manage own workload under pressure while managing competing priorities is essential.
