Salary: £55,300 - £62,390 Inclusive of London Weighting

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Barbican Centre, London

About the Role

This role will support the Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing, in implementing and operating our occupational health and safety management system across the Barbican. You provide competent advice, expertise and guidance in health and safety matters to enable responsible persons to manage the risks and opportunities to continually improve health and safety performance. You will act as the Health and Safety Manager for Services and Departments without a competent professional. You will be the Barbican’s expert, providing advice on statutory requirements and guidance on the management of workplace risk including psychosocial risk, as part of a health and safety management system, and the first aid needs assessment.

The Person

Our ideal candidate will have:
• NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent is essential.
• Proven experience as a Health and Safety Manager, ideally within a public venue, cultural, or arts sector.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety regulations and legislation.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Proactive, with a solution-driven approach to challenges.
