Salary is no less than £61,446 and the salary scale can be found on the LSE website. Tentative start date 1 August 2025.

The LSE and, in particular, its Department of Geography and Environment, are world leaders in research on innovation. Reflecting this, we are launching a new MSc in Innovation Policy in September 2025 and are recruiting for a new Assistant Professor to teach on the programme and contribute to the wider research environment of the Department.

Candidates should have:
• Consolidated expertise and research interests in Innovation Policy - defined broadly to include the economics of innovation, public policy and innovation policy, economic geography, or political economy of innovation.
• A track record or trajectory of internationally excellent publications in Innovation Policy... (broadly defined as including the economics of innovation, public policy and innovation policy, economic geography or political economy of innovation)
• Ability to teach courses in Innovation Policy including from the perspectives of public policy, economics, economic geography, and political science - at postgraduate level
• A commitment to work as part of a team in assisting the smooth running of the Department and its teaching programmes, in particular the MSc in Innovation Policy, including contributing to the direction and management of the programme.

Experience in teaching Innovation Policy at undergraduate or postgraduate level is desirable.
