Senior Nursery Manager

Job Summary
We are currently working with a nursery group in East London who are seeking an experienced and professional Senior Nursery Manager to provide effective management and oversight for two nurseries in Forest Gate and Manor Park.

Key Responsibilities
• Ensure high standards of care and education at the nurseries.
• Foster a positive and supportive work culture among staff.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Provide regular updates to the Board of Directors and manage risks and challenges.
• Implement actions to address process and control deficiencies.
• Develop and support strategic plans to achieve organisational goals.
• Provide leadership and guidance to nursery... managers and staff.
• Monitor and manage financial performance, including budgeting and cost control.
• Oversee HR issues, payroll, and buildings maintenance/management.
• Ensure robust IT and data systems for accurate reporting.
• Ensure compliance with the Early Years Statutory Framework and SEND Code of Practice.
• Oversee safeguarding, health and safety policies and procedures.
• Allocate a key person for Ofsted and Designated Safeguarding Lead roles.
• Provide ongoing supervisory management support for nursery leads.
• Support staff in building strong relationships with families and community stakeholders.
• Implement policies and procedures to maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
• Support the development and delivery of a high-quality curriculum and learning environments.
• Promote the nursery's brand identity in all operations.
• Report risks and challenges to the Board for mitigation.
• Ensure effective data management in line with GDPR requirements.
• Hold regular reviews with a Director of ESE for ongoing support and review of delivery.
Qualifications
• An early year's qualification at degree level preferably with EYPs or EYT or a level 5 in childcare or equivalent.
Experience
• 3-5 years of proven experience in a leadership role within the early year’s education sector.
• Sound understanding of the EYFS, safeguarding and child protection.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and standards governing early years and children’s services.
• Experience managing budgets and delivering payroll and financial oversight for multiple nurseries.
• Relevant childcare, safeguarding, and prevent qualifications in accordance with Ofsted guidelines.
• Passion for promoting the well-being and development of young children, especially those experiencing disadvantage and/or SEND.
• Capacity to fulfill the responsible person role for Ofsted and DSL for the two nurseries.
