Step Into Teaching are supporting an exceptional SEMH School in Lambeth who would like to support the next generation of teachers. The school is looking to build your experience in the role and support your progression to become a Qualified Teacher.

If you are passionate about your degree specialism but also hold the passion, desire and commitment to support learners with complex needs and behaviours, then we would like to hear from you.

This is a highly rewarding role suited to those who want to make a genuine difference to children in need of highly supportive and dependable graduate teachers. You need to be able to see beyond behaviour to support and nurture students with ACEs.

You will be working alongside a qualified teacher to deliver lessons to a small group of students (6-8). This will give you the necessary exposure to teaching. You will receive full training and support in the role as you learn as you earn.

The opportunity:
• Specialist Thearputic SEN / SEMH school
•... Supporting students from KS1 - 4
• 2:8 Ratios - Small classes with 2 teachers per class of 6-8 students
• Working alongside knowledgeable & experienced mentors such as psychotherapist, SALT, Occupational Therapists.
• Full-time role, Monday – Friday
• Starting ASAP until July 2025 & beyond
• £600.00-£625.00 per week depending on experience
• Chance to gain invaluable classroom experience before teacher training with 100% of your teacher training fully funded

The ideal graduate must:
• Hold a degree 2:2 or above in your specialist subject
• Ability to cope in high-pressure, highly stressful contexts
• To manage behaviour positively and in line with the schools’ ethos and procedures.
• Be able to inspire and motivate students to reach their full potential
• Be flexible and self-motivated
• Be able to demonstrate good teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Have excellent communication skills
• Have the ability to build strong working relationships with a wide range of individual students
• Be able to deliver well-structured small & 1:2:1 intervention sessions
• Demonstrate a commitment to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children
• Have at least 1 year of experience working in education
• Be able to demonstrate experience of higher level teaching assistant abilities or hold equivalent qualification
