We are currently recruiting for a Commis Baker to join the team at HIDE
Since opening in April 2018 the team, led by Ollie Dabbous & Group Head Chef Josh Angus has received critical acclaim, a Michelin * & has become well known on London's restaurant scene. This is a great opportunity for a committed Baker to join a team of like-minded professionals working with some of the best produce the UK has to offer.
There is a restaurants 5 private dining rooms & a bar over three floors, with HIDE casual Michelin dining, showcasing produce from small organic farms to day boat fish. if you are a truly professional Baker looking to advance your career - this is the place for you!
Everything is made in-house wherever possible: from charcuterie & bread to jams, juices and pickles. Our Management team work closely with the best farms in the country, buying whole animals to practice butchery & to keep up with our ethos of sustainability.
The kitchen is both spacious & state of the art, with the... very best equipment including: wood-fired oven, induction stoves, smoking chimneys, deck ovens, pasteurizers, pastry sheeters, anti-griddles & soft-serve machines. This is a place for a truly professional Breakfast Chef to thrive.
As a Baker your duties will include:
• Preparing, cooking & presenting dishes within your speciality
• Experience in Vienoisserie, dough.
• Hand shaping bread
• Be able to produce hand crafted bread to our high standards using traditional baking techniques including an excellent knowledge of dough and proofing.
• Training the junior chefs working with you
• Working as a team & individually
• Supporting the head chef to develop dishes for the menu
• Maintaining the standards set for service
• Following all H&S regulations
