GRAIL is seeking a Staff People Operations Associate who will be an integral part of the People Services team, leading strategic projects and People Services programs, and identifying opportunities to streamline processes and optimize service delivery. This person will also provide advanced support for People related activities in Workday and provide functional Tier 2 HelpDesk troubleshooting when needed.
This is a hybrid position requiring a mix of days onsite in Menlo Park and work from home. You must live within a commutable distance.
Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and implement people processes and programs designed with a high degree of efficiency to ensure an outstanding experience for our employees
- Document, implement, and improve upon processes, procedures, and programs related to the entire employee lifecycle
- Ensure the delivery of critical people operations processes such as onboarding/offboarding, and data changes including compensation, promotions, and transfers
- Lead complex and/or time sensitive projects in support of People Operations initiatives as needed
- Continuously seek out ways to refine processes and workflows to maximize efficiency, enhance end user experience, and drive data integrity in Workday. Update shared resources, job aids and templates accordingly
- Partner with the People Systems team to support Workday releases (enhancements and upgrades) by testing functionality and documenting workflows
- Handle People HelpDesk escalations for operational issues
- Partner with stakeholders in People Systems, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, and other functions on cross-functional project work as needed
- Establish strong standards for ongoing training and documentation for all processes and activities within the scope of work related to programs owned
- Manage multiple vendor relationships and associated programs, processes and policies, primarily related to immigration and contingent staffing
- Hold vendors accountable to a high level of quality and support, and continuously monitor delivery against SLAs
- Provide support to hiring managers for critical processes ie contingent staffing needs
- Act as a liaison between our immigration partner and GRAIL employees and recruiters to ensure timely and effective support
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years experience working in the People function required
- 3+ years vendor management experience required
- Experience with a help desk tool such as ServiceNow or Workday Help
- 5+ years Workday HCM knowledge and experience required
- Experience with contingent staffing programs preferred
- Immigration support experience preferred
- Google suite experience preferred
Highly Preferred- Strong systems and process improvement mindset
- A drive to automate and create efficiency
- Demonstrated experience managing process improvement efforts
- Ability to work effectively with cross functional partners to identify opportunities and deliver solutions
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong functional experience with cloud-based HR tools; Workday experience is a must
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Client service focus, responsiveness and a “can-do” open minded attitude
- Strong organizational skills, proactive approach
- Self-starter, ability to work well independently as well as cross functionally and in a team environment
- Ability to manage information confidentially and discreetly
The expected, full-time, annual base pay scale for this position is $127K- $159K. Actual base pay will consider skills, experience, and location.
Based on the role, colleagues may be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan tied to company and individual performance, or an incentive plan. We also offer a long-term incentive plan to align company and colleague success over time.
