Xenial Consulting are pleased to be supporting a market-leading business within the Construction sector in their search for an HR and Payroll assistant. Reporting into and being supported by the HR Manager, this role would suit someone who has good HR generalist experience alongside some payroll admin experience but who is keen to expand on their knowledge and experience in both areas.
Typical dutes will include the following
• Work closely with the HR Manager to effectively run the HR function for the group.
• Assist with the full recruitment process, including shortlisting, scheduling and conducting interviews and maintaining candidate records.
• Assist with the onboarding process, including background checks, inductions and ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records
• Assist with company-wide employee communications
• Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR function and special projects, such as employee engagement initiatives... training programs, and compliance reporting.
• Provide clerical and administrative support to HR executives.
• Process documentation and prepare reports relating to HR activities
• Analyse payroll data for discrepancies and resolve any issues.
• Prepare statutory deductions, attachment orders and other earnings/deductions.
• Process P60, P11D and P46 submissions.
• Liaise with HMRC for PAYE queries.
• Maintain up to date knowledge of regulations affecting payroll, ensuring compliance.
You will ideally have a CIPD qualification or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years experience in an HR role where you have also had some involvement with payroll. Support and training will be provided on the payroll aspect of this role if needed.
