About the team

The team are working in an Agile, SAFe development environment. The team is made up of developers, testers and a Product owner. As a Quality Assurance Analyst (level 2) you will be responsible for hands on functional testing on the payment's platform whilst working closely with your agile team to deliver products and change requests of the highest quality. You will building new services and proactively working on the improvements and enhancements backlog for the platform.

What you'll own

• You will be owning the designing and planning test strategies for projects and applications
• You will be undertaking planning activities for agile deliveries
• You will be analysing requirements and user stories to derive automated test cases, adding to the test suite
• You will be driving the automation backlog for the team while collaborating with the testing community
• You will mentor the team and review the automated tests for the rest API microservices the team is developing
• You will create automated tests to enhance the existing test suite
• You will be writing tests in BDD format for complex payment scenarios in business-like language
• You will support and maintain the test automation framework with respect to implementation of new or existing features and bug fixes
• You will maintain and add new Selenium tests (java and jbehave syntax) to our main legacy platform
• You will be executing tests thoroughly to ensure software quality, running automated tests and identifying defects
• Together with the team you will be deploying the application and services in the test environment
• You will be actively contributing to process improvement initiatives and enhancements to current procedures including recommending quality improvements
• You will be working with project teams to resolve any issues in a timely manner whilst keeping relevant stakeholders informed of progress and challenges
• You will be supporting releases of our main platform and services into production
• Together with the team, you will be covering the support of the production instances of the applications built and owned by the team.
What you bring

• Problem solving, analysis, and investigative skills
• Strong proactive mindset

• Previous experience of working as a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer
• Experience within an agile development environment
• Experience with API testing frameworks like Karate, Rest-Assured or other similar frameworks
• Experience of test automation using Selenium Web Driver
• Ability to refactor code to reduce complexity
• Knowledge of software testing procedures and be skilled in test planning, test estimation, prioritisation, and risk-based testing
• Practical experience of agile testing methodologies - BDD, TDD etc.
• Making decisions, often with limited information and communicating these to others within the team
• Strong desire for quality
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Unix and SQL skills
• Hands-on experience with API and Microservices testing
• Jenkins and CI/CD
• Ability to take the point of view of the customer
