About the Team

Worldpay are on an exciting journey re-engineering our core merchant payments platform to be more cost effective, scalable and cloud ready utilizing the latest cutting-edge technologies. This journey will require the very best engineering talent to get us there as it's not just a technical change, it's a cultural change as well.

What Will You Be Doing

We are seeking an exceptional talent with a passion for performance. This individual should have the expertise to understand complex scenarios, identify performance bottlenecks, and engineer effective solutions. The Performance Engineering team works across the NAP platform, handling a variety of applications from in-house to vendor-customized, and managing infrastructure from on-premise to cloud, as well as a wide range of data and databases. The ideal candidate must possess the drive and ability to continuously learn, adapt to new technologies, and develop their skills.

Skills

• Proven track record of performance engineering across multiple application boundaries and technologies
• Performance testing experience of Apache Kafka and event driven designs.
• Proven experience In development on one of either Python or Java
• Advanced SQL, PL/SQL skills (Procedure, Package), performance tuning and DBA metadata.
• Good understanding of Unix/Linux Operating Systems.
• Experience on testing against cloud platforms and containerised applications (AWS/GKOP/ Azure).
• ETL or Data Warehouse concepts, experience in any ETL tools (Informatica, ODI, etc.)
• Experience of operating within an Agile Team (SAFe methodology preferable)
• Good understanding of CI/CDe principles and tools e.g. Github, Jenkins , Splunk
• Ability to lead a small team
• Experience of the payments industry is preferable.
• Building strong relationships across multiple engineering teams and with stakeholders
• Experience in reviewing progress and presenting results to stakeholders
