The Internship Role
We are seeking a UI/UX Design Intern to play a critical role in supporting our product development process, with strong emphasis on QA and design systems management. You will gain hands-on experience designing for highly impactful projects, nurturing ideas from ideation to execution.
Core Responsibilities
• Contribute to a design system by creating and refining reusable components.
• Ensure design consistency through rigorous post-development testing, maintaining a high level of... accuracy across projects.
• Proactively offer feedback that champions user needs, ensuring design decisions are always grounded in empathy, data, and best practices.
• Work closely with UX, brand designers, and cross-functional teams to align on vision and execution.
• Refine complex yet intuitive web-based interfaces for a suite of SaaS applications.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Adaptable and thrives in fast-paced startup environments, where shifting priorities and multitasking are the norm.
• A self-starter with a strong initiative and an eagerness to learn.
• Highly organized and methodical, with the ability to develop workflow processes and design solutions that scale.
• Detail-oriented, with a keen eye for spacing, colors, and overall design harmony.
• Collaborates effectively and is motivated by group critique.
• Proficient in Figma, with experience creating prototypes and using auto-layout.
Additional Desirable Qualities
• Familiarity with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator.
• Interest in national security and defense technology applications.
