Role: Mechanical Engineering Lead - Thames Water

Are you a seasoned Mechanical Engineer looking to lead major water infrastructure projects within a dynamic joint venture? Our client, a collaboration between two leading contractors, is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Lead to oversee key water infrastructure projects in the Thames Water region.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the mechanical engineering aspects of water infrastructure projects, from concept design through to construction, installation, and commissioning.
• Develop and approve mechanical designs, drawings, and technical specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
• Manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, working closely with electrical engineers, civil engineers, and project managers to ensure smooth project execution.
• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems, ensuring... compliance with technical standards, safety regulations, and project timelines.
• Provide expert technical guidance to resolve mechanical engineering challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure that all mechanical engineering activities align with project goals, budgets, and timelines.
• Prepare and present technical reports, design reviews, and project progress updates to clients and stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Requirements:
• Extensive experience as a Mechanical Engineer, with a track record of leading complex infrastructure projects, ideally within the water sector or similar industries.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, fluid dynamics, and engineering best practices, with experience in designing and implementing large-scale mechanical systems.
• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., BEng/MEng in Mechanical Engineering) and professional certifications.
• Familiarity with the Thames Water Framework or similar utility frameworks is highly desirable.
