Summary of the role
Reporting into the Head of Distribution Centre, the Finance team and wider operational teams (retail, merchandising and others), this role will involve overseeing and managing our customs process for all the companies in our group.
Responsibilities:
· Act as an in-house expert on all transport, shipping, VAT, import/export and HMRC regulations, changes and ensure compliance for our group of companies
· Manage and coordinate all customs matters related to international shipments
· Liaise with suppliers to ensure correct documentations are provided for all shipments
• Ensure accurate information is communicated to forwarders and clearing agents
• Ensure all documents comply with international trade regulations and requirements
· Monitor and track road, air and sea shipments and manage any issues promptly
· Handle customs queries and ensure correct duty and taxes are paid
• Provide timely and accurate information and updates on all shipments to the relevant... team
• Plan and arrange deliveries to our distribution centre
• Responsible for keeping an accurate digital archive/records of relevant customs documents, ready for inspection by HMRC and/other parties
• Design processes and build SOP(s), circulating to the business and ensure they are followed
• Data reporting and data audit

• Strong IT skills, incl. being an advanced user of MS Excel

• Ability to work under pressure in a time-sensitive environment, with last-minute requests, working to tight deadlines and being able to multitask across changing priorities
Essential experience:
• Minimum three years of experience in freight forwarding within ocean, air and road freight
• Experience and understanding of shipping documentation incl. invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, Bills of Lading and others.
• Strong and up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations and procedures, tariffs and trade agreements

Pay: £35,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
