Our client, a freight forwarder based in Woodford Green is now looking for a Import/Export Clerk to join their office.

Role Overview
The position involves a combination of commercial, sales, and operational responsibilities, with initial training provided. The successful candidate will start in the Operations departments, on the Export & Import Forward desk & Export/Recycling desk, gaining experience across different areas, including:
• Export/Recycling Desk: Initial focus with responsibilities such as understanding processes, handling client relationships, and learning operational software.
• Forwarding Desk: Experience in freight movement via Air, Road, and Sea, including understanding client profiles and supplier relationships.
• Commercial Desk: Focus on commercial activities like quotations, rate negotiations, and business development.

Key Responsibilities
1. Operations:
o Learn and manage processes using Multifreight software.
o Understand and manage export/recycling and... forwarding operations.
o Maintain and develop client relationships.
o Oversee job initiation, billing, and file closure.
o Import & Export Customs clearance.
o Import & Export Documentation

2. Commercial Activities:
o Act as a liaison between different operational desks.
o Assist in sourcing rates, quotations and negotiations.
o Help secure new business and maintain current client relationships.

Required Experience, Knowledge, & Skills
• Freight Forwarding: Experience across all modes (Air, Road, Sea).
• Customs Clearance: Knowledge of export/import procedures and documentation.
• INCOTERMS: Understanding of international commercial terms.
• Communication & Organization: Strong skills in team collaboration, confidence, and proactivity.
• IT Skills: Proficient in Excel, with knowledge of Cargowise software being beneficial.
• Pressure Management: Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
