Global Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

Overview
We are seeking an exceptional Global Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to join a forward-thinking organisation at the cutting edge of Cloud, AI, and SaaS technologies, within the Finance and Banking sectors. You will take ownership of the company’s cybersecurity strategy and operations across multiple markets, providing leadership in a dynamic and fast-evolving technological landscape. Key Responsibilities
• Security Leadership: Lead the organisation’s global information security strategy, ensuring robust protection across cloud platforms, AI-driven technologies, and SaaS solutions.
• Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage information security risks across the organisation, implementing a proactive and holistic approach to mitigate emerging threats in the finance and banking sectors.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the organisation’s compliance with regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS, and financial industry-specific regulations) across multiple geographies.
• Cloud Security: Develop and implement best practices for securing cloud environments, including hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructures, ensuring data security, encryption, and identity management.
• AI Security: Oversee the security of AI-driven technologies, ensuring that AI models and machine learning algorithms are secure from data poisoning, adversarial attacks, and bias issues.
• Incident Response: Lead and refine the incident response strategy, ensuring rapid detection, containment, and recovery from security breaches, including oversight of global security operations centres (SOCs).
• Vendor and Partner Management: Collaborate with third-party providers and technology partners to ensure their security measures align with the company’s standards.
• Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing global security team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and vigilance.
• Executive Reporting: Regularly report on cybersecurity posture, risks, and incidents to the executive team and the board, providing actionable insights and recommendations for enhancing the organisation’s security landscape.
• Innovation and Security by Design: Partner with product and engineering teams to embed security by design principles into the development lifecycle of new products, services, and technologies.
Essential Skills and Experience
• Proven experience as a CISO or senior information security leader in a global organisation, preferably within the finance, banking, or technology sectors.
• Extensive experience in cloud security (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), with a strong understanding of SaaS models, AI security, and securing complex, multi-national infrastructures.
• In-depth knowledge of information security frameworks, regulations, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, NIST, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and financial regulations).
• Expertise in risk management, security operations, and incident response within high-pressure environments.
• Strong technical acumen in areas such as encryption, identity and access management (IAM), network security, and data privacy.
• Demonstrable experience working with AI/ML models, and mitigating risks associated with the use of artificial intelligence technologies.
• Outstanding communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, from technical teams to C-suite and board members.
• Experience managing security for large-scale cloud environments and working with third-party vendors in a collaborative manner.
Preferred Qualifications
2:1 or above in a STEM, Computer Science, Software Engineering,
• CISSP, CISM, or equivalent certifications.
• A strong academic background in computer science, information security, or related fields.
• Experience in navigating the cybersecurity challenges of global financial institutions.
