Job Summary

This role is for a dynamic Senior Quality Manager to lead our Quality Department within the construction industry. The successful candidate will oversee a team of Quality Managers, ensuring the highest standards of quality in our construction processes, projects, and services. This role requires extensive experience with ISO9001 standards, a strong background in construction quality management, and proven leadership capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess a customer-centric mindset, a commitment to innovation in process improvement, and a supportive leadership style that promotes professional growth. Key responsibilities include implementing and maintaining ISO9001 standards, leading internal and external audits, streamlining construction processes, resolving quality issues, and developing staff through comprehensive training programs. The role demands excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and to drive continuous improvement within the team and the organisation. Additionally, the candidate must ensure that all processes comply with ISOQAR accreditation requirements.

Salary up to £85,000 p.a. dependent on experience.

Main Responsibilities
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of quality managers to ensure they meet departmental goals and objectives.
• To have a caring and supportive leadership style that promotes teamwork and professional growth.
• Understand Project Requirements aligned with company objectives
• Manage and allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of any ISO9001 quality management systems specific to the construction industry.
• Lead internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of non-conformities and continuous improvement.
• Develop, review, and update Project Requirement plans, Inspection and Test Plan protocols, and testing procedures.
• Ensure compliance with ISOQAR accreditation requirements.
• Identify and implement innovative ways to streamline construction processes and improve efficiency.
• Monitor and analyse quality performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvement initiatives.
• Maintain a strong customer service orientation, ensuring that customer requirements and expectations are met in construction projects.
• Develop and deliver training programs for quality staff and other departments to enhance knowledge and skills related to quality management and ISO9001.
• Stay updated with the latest quality management best practices and industry trends, particularly in construction.
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international construction regulations and standards.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in the construction industry, including real in-depth knowledge of the Building Safety Act UK.
• Demonstrate proficiency in electronic document management systems, such as Asite.
• Understand and manage the procurement process, ensuring quality standards are upheld from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Highlight the importance of lessons learned with trade contractors to improve future project performance.
• Recognise how good quality management can positively impact safety standards and overall project success.

What We Require Of You
• A relevant degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quality Management is essential.
• Must possess ISO9001 Lead Auditor Certification
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in quality management within the construction industry is essential, together with proven senior leadership skills.
• Experience in procurement and managing supplier quality would be highly desirable.
• The successful candidate must have an extensive and current knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in the construction industry, including the Building Safety Act UK.
• Strong knowledge of ISOQAR accreditation requirements is essential.
• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to mentor and develop high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with internal teams, contractors, clients, and regulatory bodies.
• Ability to work autonomously with the ability to manage and allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
• Project management skills to oversee multiple construction projects simultaneously is essential.
