The purpose of the Simulated Consultation Assessment (SCA) is to assess a GP trainee’s ability to integrate and apply skills appropriate for general practice. The Examiners Manager is responsible for overseeing the marking process of the SCA examination, recruiting and training lead examiners and examiners, and ensuring quality assurance of the marking process. They will also be responsible for the organisation of the annual examiners' training conference (Mandatory Training Event (MTE)) for approximately 300 examiners and support the work of the Senior Examinations Manager (SCA).
The successful candidate should have experience in working with examiner panels, ideally within a medical background and have exceptional communication skills, using discretion and observing confidentiality when required. The successful candidate should have strong attention to detail, a sound understanding of examiner marking and quality assurance processes and able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering training courses, budget planning and confident in making decisions.
