We have been appointed by one of the well-performing University NHS Trusts in South East England to help recruit an SHO in Emergency Medicine on a Permanent/NHS Fixed Term basis.The successful appointee will be joining an amazing Emergency Medicine department that is evolving rapidly with a team of dynamic and enthusiastic colleagues, exploring different ways of working and expanding their departments, services, and staff. This department has won awards for the amazing work done regarding their junior staff, including recent RCEM quality improvement prizes and a HSJ highly commended prize in the workforce category, as well as being awarded Emergency Training Department of the Year by the Royal College of Emergency Medicine.An opportunity to work 25% dedicated non-clinical time to work on projects within this Emergency Department is available, and the department is keen to promote subspecialty interests. The Consultant body has expertise in education, simulation, trauma, pre-hospital... medicine, ultrasound, and toxicology, with consultants who also run courses for FRCEM primary and FRCEM within the department.The appointee will be expected to fulfil various responsibilities such as:Responsible for all clinical aspects of Emergency work where there is 24/7 Consultant presence in the ED.Attendance in weekly 3-hour teaching sessions.Evidence of output for the 25% non-clinical project time.1-in-5 night frequency as a maximum.Managing projects both independently and under supervision.Skilled at team working.Additional Information:Emergency Training Department of the Year by the Royal College of Emergency Medicine.Opportunities for learning time with dedicated consultants.Outstanding nearby Schools.Good level of housing stock.Close Transportation links to major Cities like London.Benefits:Excellent levels of support with a strong culture of learning.75% Emergency Medicine, 25% to a project of your own choosing.Excellent support for personal development.If this might interest you or you know of someone who may be suitable, please let me know as soon as possible.
