An exciting opportunity has arisen at French Connection for an Assistant Merchandiser to join the Merchandising Team at our Camden Head Office.
Key Objective:
To support Merchandising team to maximise all retail opportunities through the effective management of inventory, driving full price sales through improved stock availability, reducing markdowns and maximizing profit.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Trading & Forecasting:
· Provide Weekly Merchandising Reports for the Retail/Department Business
· Review product performance, identifying trading opportunities and weaknesses
· Work with Allocators to control inventory levels, allocations and replenishment as required
· Analyse store performance and stock holding, reviewing store grading and depth requirements
· Manage intake into stores to hit... monthly forecasts, drive sales and minimise risks
· Provide Warehouse with monthly intake to stores forecast base on the trading calendar and new product launches
· Responsible for maintaining Department Promo / Trading Calendar
· Provide analysis on Markdowns and Promotional activities
· Update Weekly Stock Sales and Intake (WSSI)
· Provide detailed ad-hoc analysis when required on specific products/stores
· Undertake regular Store Visits
Planning:
· Provide analysis on historical sales patterns and trends to help develop forward plans.
· Responsible for Seasonal Sizing Analysis
· Maintain and forecast never out of stock product line cards
· Rate Of Sale analysis and new Season Buys planned accordingly
· Assist in Range Selection by providing relevant information to Buying and Merchandising
Essential Skills and Experience:
· Proven experience working as an Assistant Merchandiser / Senior Allocator within Fashion Retail industry.
· Strong attention to details and an ability to analyse data sets to make informed trade decisions.
· Advanced working knowledge of Excel
· Highly organised, with great time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
· Ability to work independently and handle responsibility
· A team player with the ability to work well with other functions of the business

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 7-8 months
Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
