Our client, a large Defence supplier, is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join their team. The role will operate within a project team at a large secure government department in Cheltenham.
The client requires a minimum of 2 days/week working on site but are open to hybrid working at other times. You will be asked to specify your requirements during the application process.
Initial contract will be scheduled to run for 220 days (circa 1 year). Rate is determined by SFIA bands and candidates will therefore be considered for rates depending on their experience:
SFIA band 4 experience, the maximum rate is up to £650/day.
SFIA band 5 experience, the maximum rate is up to £780/day.
SFIA band 6 experience, the maximum rate is up to £900/day.
IR35 STATUS: Inside IR35. Our client has indicated that they intend to operate the engagement as Inside IR35. Candidates would be required to operate through an FCSA registered umbrella company on this engagement. The rates above represent rate payable to the umbrella co.

This role requires candidates to hold current Enhanced DV clearance. As these are for requirements for contract resource, for early start, and due to the timescales to gain new clearances, candidates without current clearance cannot be considered on this occasion.
Role Description
The role of the Business Analyst is to support project teams to develop and implement appropriate methodologies for projects. The role holder must be able to communicate well with clients and accurately understand their requirements, as well as being able to work effectively with project teams to deliver collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Main Responsibilities
Analysing processes and operations, using appropriate tools and techniques to identify improvements in accordance with client objectives. This will include workshop facilitation to engage people gathering inputs to your analysis and sharing ideas and conclusions.
Succinctly articulate methodologies and approaches.
Baseline business performance and follow through to benefits realisation.
Write engaging project summary reports for clients to enable change implementation.
Preparing reports and presenting to a range of client stakeholders.
Working collaboratively with senior stakeholders in technology-led transformation programmes, across strategy, business design and change management.
Analysing complex problems, designing innovative solutions and communicating them effectively to a wide range of audiences.
Delivering transformational change, with awareness and knowledge of business change models, tools and techniques.
Works iteratively with stakeholders, to identify potential benefits and available options for consideration, and in defining acceptance tests.
Facilitates scoping and business priority setting for change initiatives of medium, size and complexity.
Contributes to the selection of the most appropriate means of representing business requirements in the context of a specific change initiative, ensuring full traceability from Front Door Request to the work delivering the requirements.
Identifies the impact on business requirements of interim (e.g. migration) scenarios as well as the required end position.
Work alongside suppliers and delivery team members to deliver to required timescales and agreed quality.
Provide knowledge transfer to other team members.
Contribute to lessons learned and process improvements.
