The London Product Supply and Trading office concentrates on providing flow assurance, optimization and trading of physical refined products and fuels and feedstocks originating in or destined for Europe and Africa.

The successful candidate will be one with good technical knowledge of Oil Products and who has an understanding of Refining & Operations. One who is able to make decisions and grasp concepts quickly, has proven ability to produce positive results, has an eye for detail and strong leadership skills to positively influence others in the team.
As a Products trader, this individual may cover and develop deal flow in around Equity and non-Equity flows for Europe and Africa including Global arbitrage opportunities. Knowledge and experience in physical blending, arbitrage position (to/from US, Africa, Middle East and Far East) as well as strong understanding and execution financial commodities is highly sort after.
Key Job Responsibilities for this position:
• Generates and develops sound trading strategies that result in increased profitability for the book.
• Responsible for managing the Products Supply & Trading teams price exposure relating to the London Physical Products portfolio. Requires a strong knowledge of Products markets and their correlation to other energy commodities.
• Ability to identify and execute profitable trading strategies, managing associated price exposure utilizing financial instruments, always with a sharp focus on earnings generation, measurement and control of associated risks.
• Engage with industry experts and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
• Negotiates spot & term contracts and ensuring each contract is performed in accordance with agreed terms.
• Communicates clearly strategy, transactions, position and operational requirements to regional and global teams.
• Ensures all trading activities are conducted within appropriate delegations of authority and conform with Risk Manual Guidelines whilst demonstrating strong operational excellence.
Required Qualifications:
• Degree Level (or equivalent) in one of the following fields is preferred: Chemical Engineering, Economics, Business
• Excellent record - in previous and current roles - of being strongly driven towards future success.
• Demonstrated leadership, positive influence and teamwork behaviours.
• A self-starter with excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic high-pressure diverse team environment
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in physical marketing, supply and/or trading, including inventory management, hedging, and position taking.
• Understanding of regional and/or global markets, market exposure, risk management, basis risk, blending and arbitrage economics.
• Experience with detailed commercial negotiations.
• Experience in using analytical and problem-solving techniques.
• A flexible approach to working hours is vital to accommodate the significant variation in workloads associated with a busy trading operation.
• Periodic travel may be required.
• Preferably 3+ years of trading experience in Products.
