This initiative aims to complement our existing passive fire protection services and provide our clients with a holistic approach to fire safety. With our new active fire department, we will offer cutting-edge solutions, including fire detection, alarm systems, and emergency response strategies.

As we prepare to launch our active fire department, we are seeking a Senior Fire Alarm Engineer to lead our growing team and take over responsibilities from our existing senior engineers. This pivotal role will involve overseeing the design, installation, and maintenance of fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of fire alarm systems Conducting site surveys and preparing quotes using the online portal.
• Fault-finding and troubleshooting on a variety of fire alarm and AOV systems.
• Ensuring all installations and maintenance comply with current fire safety regulations Liaising with clients and providing excellent customer service
• Assisting in mentoring junior engineers and sharing industry knowledge
• Keeping up-to-date with the latest fire safety technologies and practices
Responsibilities:
• Design and develop fire protection systems in accordance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Create detailed as-fitted drawings for fire detection and alarm installations.
• Conduct thorough inspections of existing fire systems to assess functionality and compliance.
• Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to build effective fire safety solutions.
• Utilise both power tools and hand tools for installation, maintenance, and repair of fire protection equipment.
• Provide technical support during the installation process and ensure all systems are operating effectively.
• Maintain accurate documentation of designs, modifications, and inspections for future reference.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to fire engineering.
Requirements:
• Proven experience in fire alarm or any related fields.
• Proficiency in floor plan software for system design purposes. (Optional)
• Strong understanding of fire detection and alarm system standards BS 5839-1 & 6 & BS EN 12101-2. (FIA or EAL level 3 qualification)
• Ability to read and interpret floor plans effectively.
• Experience with power tools and hand tools relevant to installation tasks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
• A proactive approach to learning new technologies and methods within the field of fire engineering.
